I fully divested from Tesla (TSLA), selling all my shares. I’m going to try to explain why. At Electrek, we like to be clear about our biases rather than claim we have none. I’ve followed Tesla since 2008 and invested in the company after it went public in 2010. I started writing about EVs, and especially Tesla, full-time in 2015. Most of those cars are hybrids, but the all-electric Prologue is off to a strong start with 5,401 deliveries in August alone. It’s already outselling cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, but we’ll have to see if Honda can hold on to that momentum after the initial wave of buyers is satisfied. The EX30 is Volvo’s take on an affordable electric hot hatch, with up to 275 miles of estimated range and 455 horsepower. The Volvo EX30 was one of the most awaited models of this year in the U.S., until it got delayed. A small electric car starting at $35,000 promised to do big…

About 3 years ago, I wrote about cars that seemed to be impressive before, like the Xpeng P5 and the BYD Dolphin. The sales of both have been disappointing to me.  I don’t know the exact reasons for that, but in the brutally competitive Chinese marketplace, it could be competition or it could be the manufacturer…
